Dragon Head Sculpt

Another head sculpt. Since Skyrim was just recently released i thought i'd have a bash at doing a dragon. This was fun as i've never really done a creature sculpt before. Really just made it up as i went along. Would be good to do a paint over of this at some point.

Started doing weekly Zbrush head sculpts. All sculpts were started from a zsphere. The zombie had more time spent on it due to me getting to grips with ZB. Cat Woman and Joker each took approx 2.5 hours. My aim is to get faster and more precise. Critiques welcome....and apologies for the crappy screengrabs. They are just rough after all...

Heres a quicky colour render of the model just to show how its progressing. Think i'll need to photo source the hair and map it using Zapplink. Need to have a think about what i want to do pedestal wise. Nearing the end now. Eager to crack on with something a bit meatier for my next model.

Heres the finished ZB sculpt. Not much to see cos i didn't want to spend ages on detailing. Below is the AO bake. Worked quite well. Can't wait to start the colour work

Almost got all the uvees laid out. Then will get stuck into some Zbrushing. Not alot to do in that respect due to the nature of the outfit... some creases here and there.

Finally finished my concept for the 'Gunslinga' theme. Took me ages and is still far from perfect...some poor composition and colouring that i should have given more careful thought. I am however pleased with how its turned out...i was fighting with that background for a bit. Please leave a comment if you've got any crits. ta

To make up for my rubbish penguin drawing i did a sketch of Heath Ledgers 'Joker'. Man, i have to draw with pencils more, wish i had a 2B pencil to deal with the shadows more. I'm happy with how this turned out.

Okay peeps. Sorry for the sluggish updates. I'm a lazy shit i know.

Anyway heres a drawing i'm developing at the moment. Theres are my initial ideas. My good friend Ian McCue has given me some pointers as how to make this more visually interesting so i'm kinda pushing the pose in a different direction. Will have some more stuff up as soon as i can.

Sorry theres been no new stuff in a while. Not gonna bother finishing the streetfighter thing. just didn't excite me that much and was struggling to be honest.

A new comp has reared its ugly head but once i get this bit of art coloured i may start knocking something up.

The comp is to design a super villain. I really want to give this guy mech legs but can't draw them for shit. also i need a hook for this guy. The thing in his hand is a thing he presses and gets an injection of some sort of drug which makes him go crazy.... any suggestions...don't hold back

Theres a Streetfighter redesign contest on polycount at the mo, a few guys from work are having a stab at it so i thought i'd jump on the bandwagon. Thought i'd go with M.Bison.

Dunno if this is a good enough redesign cos he doesn't look radically different. Kinda like the fact that he's stylised but not sure if i can pull it off in 3d. May have a bash anyway.

Decided to actually to something over the weekend. Really like this guy...got potential to do other stuff with. Came across some pictures of walrus' and thought ive never seen a character based around that concept...then i got thinking about Charles Bronson in the Death Wish flicks (as you do) and thought it could be cool to have him be a vigilante. Haven't thought much about his motive ...has to be something silly tho, so if anyone can help me out lease pleave a comment.

Started modelling this geeza a while ago in Maya...didn't turn out as well as i hoped but hopefully i can re-do him at somepoint now that i know how to actually use zbrush. Also fairly pleased with the quick colouring on him which i something i need to perfect. I tend to spend way to long colouring and often overwork what i'm aiming for.

This character was to be a concept for a CG Chat competition i entered at the start of the year. It was to design a warlord, but as you can tell he doesn't really have the presence of one so i ditched him in favour of a different design. I still kinda like him tho :)

Howdy doody!

My good friend Ross of Burt linked me up to his blogspot (awesome stuff dude!), and thought... i've got stuff lying around so why not start my own. Thought it'd also be a good way of keeping me drawing. I'm a character modeller at R* so don't get the chance to do much doodlin these days so it'd be great to get back into.
